Xochicalco

Xochicalco, or "the place of the house of the flowers" is a ruined Epiclassic (650-900 C.E.) city on a hilltop in Morelos, Mexico. The site thrived after the breakup of other nearby MesoAmerican cities like Teotihuacan and Monte Alban. Preserved at the site are two ball courts, a temple, an observatory, a cistern, and numerous other dwellings. The Pyramid of the Plumed Serpent is adorned with beautiful, deep reliefs depicting various figures. Link goes to set of photographs taken at the ruins and in the museum there. visit link!
